Automatic control of pier lighting
As the ship approaches, the darkness gives way and pier lighting brightens to welcome the arriving ship safely to the port. As the ship departs, the light gradually dims and the harbor is restored to peaceful light. This smart harbor lighting knows exactly when it should shine bright and when to retreat into the background.
Principle
The system is designed to automatically control pier lighting. When the ship arrives at the pier, the lighting automatically increases, and as it leaves, the light dims. Lighting adapts based on information from either the port control room or from a third-party system such as PDS and Wellamo.

Port lighting brings significant energy savings, as the lights only burn brighter when needed. In addition, adequate lighting in the port area improves occupational safety and reduces the risk of accidents, making the operation of the port smoother and more cost-effective.
