The colorful and eye-catching Brita Maria Park was built during the autumn of 2017 and summer 2018 near the center of Kokkola, along a canal that divides the city. Brita Maria Park is a sports and educational park, but the way it is implemented makes it unusual. The entire park area was built with donations from the foundation.
The lighting has received attention in Brita Maria Park and is smarter than average, as the park has C2 SmartPlay solutions that allow users to brighten the lighting at the touch of a button. In addition, the park is surrounded by a walkway, where motion sensors brighten the road for pedestrians. The lighting can be controlled remotely via a browser-based interface.
Intelligent lighting reduces light pollution and reduces energy costs and the carbon footprint.
