C2 SmartLight ohjaa Puumalan siltatornin valaistusta ilmanpaineen mukaan.
The Puumalansalmi is crossed by the Saimaa Bridge, also known as the Puumalansalmi Bridge. The bridge was commissioned in 1995 and its specialty and port landmark is the bridge tower, with a landscape elevator that travels light traffic from the port to the bridge. There is a summer café on the top floor of the bridge tower.
Suomen 100-vuotisjuhlavuoden kunniaksi Puumalan kunta ja C2 SmartLight Oy järjestivät yhteistyössä ideakilpailun, jonka tavoitteena oli esitellä Puumalan siltatorni uudessa valossa. Innovatiivisin idea palkintolautakunnan mielestä oli “Saimaanmajakka”, jossa valaistuksen värit vaihtuvat ilmanpaineen mukaan.
The changing lighting according to the environment and the idea of such a whole village barometer is interesting. "This is exactly the new and experiential idea of lighting control, which is why we started cooperating with Puumala to organize this idea competition." comments CEO Jorma Tuuna-Väiskä from C2 SmartLight Oy.
The bridge tower is connected to the C2 SmartLight central control system and the lighting and colors can also be changed remotely via the system. Special lighting has also been programmed in the calendar in Puumala. The color lighting of the bridge tower is e.g. annually red on world heart day 29.9. and blue on World Diabetes Day 14.11. and on Finland's Independence Day 6.12.

In addition, the award committee redeemed the idea of “Vasten Auringon Siltaa”, behind which are designers Joonas Saaranen and Arto Heiskanen from WhiteNight Lighting Oy. This proposal also won a public vote.
